It made it difficult for him to stay in the US, but if he had stayed would he have lost those abilities that we now admire him for? I think almost everything he does makes him seem powerful and very likable. Whether it be keeping true to his culture while also fitting into his new "American" lifstyle or working as hard as humanly possible to get and deserve what he wants, Changez is a very unique and powerful character.
